Welcome to B&B African Rock Lodge in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. 

We, Bart and Elke, are your hosts at B&B African Rock Lodge, and we warmly welcome you to our piece of paradise in the beautiful South Africa. 

Set in the heart of the unspoiled Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, where giraffe, zebra, warthog, antelope, … roam freely. 

You will find our small scale lodge a place where nature, tranquillity and personal hospitality  come  together. 

About us 

Bart has spent his entire career working as a chef, with a passion for flavour, quality and   enjoyment. 

Elke has a diverse professional background. She worked in hotels in Switzerland, where attention to 

detail, comfort and service are key. She was active as a maternity care assistant, taking care for the 

newborns and there mothers and taught in secondary education. In recent years, she was affiliated 

with the Federal Police in Brussels (Belgium) as a fingerprint examiner and forensic facial comparison 

expert. Ultimately, she decided to follow her passion and, together with Bart, return to the hospitality 

industry. 

We are Belgium and lived in Antwerp. 

In 2024 we travelled to South Africa for the first time and fell in love with this country – its breathtaking 

landscapes and nature, relaxed way of life and especially its warm and friendly people. It   felt like the 

right moment for a change. That dream has now become reality here. 

We found African Rock Lodge and immediately fell in love with it. You will understand why, when you 

have been there. 

Our lodge is designed for guests who truly want to unwind. We have decided to host adults-only lodge, 

welcoming guests from 18 years and older. Thus, ensuring peace, privacy and comfort. 

Please note that we are currently in a transitional period. Bookings made by the previous owners are 

still honoured and may include families with children. From January 1st 2027 onwards, the lodge will be

fully adults-only. 

Our offering

•4 deluxe king/twin rooms 

•1 family room accommodating up to 4 guests. This room will become a honeymoon suite in 2027.

Our rooms are thoughtfully furnished, blending comfort with the natural atmosphere of the  

African bush. 

Ideal location 

African Rock Lodge is the perfect base for exploring the region, including: 

•Game drives in and around the area 

•The world-famous Kruger National Park 

•The spectacular Panorama Route, with its waterfalls, canyons and panoramic viewpoints  

Breakfast is always included in your stay and is the perfect start to a day surrounded by  

nature.

Personal service 

Pets are not allowed as we are situated in a Wildlife Estate that is home to a variety of animals.
